Claire Newcombe is a mum and full time Creative Designer and after many years of creating as a hobby, (and blogging since March 2011), established Creative Makings in 2016 to share her experience, knowledge and to encourage others to create too. The decision came after moving from the UK and recently basing herself and the family home in Ballinascarthy, West Cork, Ireland. The aim is to create a crafting network/community in the local area.
Being a commissioned designer for a number of craftl magazines, Claire regularly features in craft publications including Creative Cardmaking, Creative Stamping, Die-cutting Essentials, Papercraft Essentials and Simply Homemade that are all available in leading supermarkets, newsagents and specialist craft stores. Claire has also created original handmade cards that have been presented on TV’s HOCHANDA craft channel (Sky channel 663). Claire works on a number of design teams for leading UK craft manufacturers, and through all social media platforms, provides inspiration for customers, demonstrating the versatility of their products.
Social media plays an important and useful tool to Claire, allowing her to share her designs, experience and knowledge to a wide ranging audience via her actively updated blog www.creativemakings.co.uk. Visiting the blog you can also connect to Creative Makings across all the media platforms.
Claire is also a member of the Craft and Hobby Association (CHA-UK) and has a Science Degree from Kings College London.
