Love IndigoBlu Luscious Pigment Powders – February Challenge

Hi there we are welcoming the February challenge for IndigoBlu, and showing off the beautiful IndigoBlu Luscious pigment powders ;

Love is all you Need

So in the words of the great Beatles  song – include anything Love related, hearts, flowers, weddings etc. We can’t wait to see how imaginative you will all be.

I have gone with a soft approach, using gentle colours and a variety of stamps to create the background. The focal image is an image torn from the ‘Lost Family’ A6 mixed media paper kit and knocked back with Gesso so that it softens into the background.

The cluster of embellishments can be created by stamping images from various stamp sets.

IndigoBlu Heart Flourish ‘dinkie’ A7 stamp

Butterfly from the IndigoBlu Floral Fantasy A5 stamp set

Cogs from the IndigoBlu Take the Time A5 stamp set

‘Love’ from the IndigoBlu word Blocks #1 stamp set by Mike Deakin

Stamp each of the elements  with ranger perfect medium (a sticky ink pad) onto a cream card stock, and apply the gorgeous Luscious powders with a soft brush to colour. I have used two colours, Coral on the heart and Bronze for the butterfly and cogs. The mica within the powders create a beautiful sheen when directed to the light … you really need to play with them yourself to see the true beauty.

Please join us on the Indigoblu Challenge Blog today, over over the coming month as the rest of the team will also be inspiring you their take on this theme.

Thanks for calling by, see you next time

Spring is in the Air – IndigoBlu Acrylic Paint

Hello, it’s time to introduce a challenge on the IndigoBlu Challenge Blog,

Spring is in the air

IB April 2016

I have used a 6 x 4 inch canvas board, so the finished project has a wonderful texture to it.

Before painting the canvas with the buttery smooth English Cottage acrylic paints, I stamped a few texture stamps with Memento Black ink. The great thing is that when you paint over these stamped images, they stay visible in the background (make sure the ink is properly dry before covering with paint though!).

I have used the stencil (listed below) to create a gate effect, and shadows in with a grey promarker. In the birthday card below, I included the gates again, but this time added them using tecture paste that I had tinted with the acrylic paint.

I have used the following supplies;

I have also made a birthday card, and videoed the process for you, but for some technical reason un known to me, the middle part of the video didn’t work!

I have photographed the card for you, and this time you can see how I finished off the projects with gilding wax.

Many thanks for joining me today, I do hope we see you over on the challenge blog. Hope to see you again soon,
