Dream Big fabric stamping with Imagine Design Create

Hello, I have been fabric stamping with Imagine Design Create stamps, to create a piece inspired by patchwork/cross stitch samplers. Samplers are a popular way to showcase a number or designs/techniques…..and so a perfect way to show that designs from different stamps sets all work together.

Stamps used in this project

Reach for the Stars / Abstract border lines / Shape your world / Star Mix

I have used Versacraft fabric ink cubes, and they come in a fantastic range of colours. I have listed all the inks, colours and stamp sets used below, with their links to the website.

Although I have used fabric, the concept of creating patterned sampler panels can easily be applied to card and paper for your papercraft projects.

1)Apply the fabric ink direct to your surface.

2)Use blending foam to distribute the ink evenly over the surface, and build up the colour

3) Also stamp words, using a Versacraft fabric stamping ink allows all the details from your stamps to be shown.

4)Use the Abstract border lines to stamp patterns across your fabric pieces. Repeat a number of times on different shapes and sizes of fabric to build your sampler piece.

5)Arrange your inked and stamped fabric pieces onto a background piece of fabric before sewing. Sew each piece on turn, with a contrasting coloured thread.

6)Once sewn, add extra interest by removing strands around the outer edge for a frayed look. Finish the piece by ironing, this will also set the fabric inks to the surface to make them permanent.

7)Decide how to mount your finished piece. It can be framed, or perhaps used as a panel to decorate a tote bag/cushion, pencil case etc……the choice is yours.
